I just thought to write about songs on waiting. There are so many of them but mostly it's those love songs. A contrast to the world we live in today where things happen now. The I want it now and should have it now mentality. Granted most of them were written ages ago but it sure does make one wonder.
There are some who get to sing 'At Last' (Etta James)
Some you find them waiting right where you left them? (Richard Marx)
Yet for others it's still, 'I just haven't met you yet' (Michael Bublé)
How about the guy who shows up on the last day of earth? (Kate Miller-Heidke)
Ok I am not writing a complete or near complete list. Just thought to share some of my favorites some not so old. What are yours? If any. Would also like to know what you think of the few quoted above. Sometimes people understand things differently.
I would like to think there is a time for waiting. Normally though for me it does not include my computer or drive through. I can make breakfast while waiting for my pc to boot up! Really no joke. Ok so it is old and I should probably upgrade but I guess I am still too attached? Explains why it's not in bits on the floor.
After all this i am curious to know how long are people really willing to wait before they settle for the next best thing and what are they doing all that time they are waiting? Probably looking for the next best available.
What are your thoughts? Are we losing patience and is that good or bad?
