A Slice of Pi

By Liz Strachan. No it is not about pies or tigers and yes it is about all the maths you forgot to remember from school. This book has a fun and entertaining yet informative look at maths, one I did not get in school.

I did not mind maths in class so when I saw this book I thought I'd give it a go. Glad I did. Anyone can read it and get a thing or two from it. It is written for everyone with a little on the history of maths, some party tricks and best of all you do not need to carry a calculator with you to go through it.

In the intro it says how Liz was a math teacher for 36 years and wanted to make maths enjoyable for her students and something they could relate.The book is easy to read. The topics and stories are not complex. In fact some barely cover two pages.

I recommend this book to anyone willing to give a bit of math a try.
