Leaving Microsoft to Change the World

By John Wood. The full title is long I just wrote the first part. Choose one or the other. For me, when I think about the book it is, "That Room to Read Book" or "John Wood's book.'' It is his first published book.

Adding this to my non-fiction section was not too hard. It's a great book about one man's journey, self discovery and dedication to educating the worlds children and so much more. This book you can say gives us a look into how Room to Read the not for profit organization came about right from the conception of the idea.

Being able to read is something a lot of people would take for granted but there are countless other people who just dream of it. A dream that may never be realized. I love reading and I enjoyed reading this book. How many would leave their comforts for others?

Sure people talk about getting out of your comfort zone but it is usually just for self benefit, to attain more. John came out of the corporate world at Microsoft, an enviable position if I might say, to starting a charity.  A book just like anything else holds different value for different people. In this case books mean a whole lot.

One of my favorite quotes from the book is “Right now what I need to think about is what would be possible, not all the reasons I can't make a change.”  That's right make that change.

I recommend this book. Who knows what insight you might get. Read it!
